I’ll start leaving some murmurs in this small pond. As a welcome message. :D
01.01.2026 I bought Sonic Agency: Sound and Emergent Forms of Resistance by Brandon LaBelle in January 2019. Regarding reading this kind of academic writing in English, it is pretty hard; I read and also gave up many times in the past few years, until last month I made up my mind to finish this book in 2026. Since I was pondering what sound means to me. So far, I'm at the very beginning phase of the book, yet many paragraphs clearly point out what I've felt and questioned. Especially it mentions "false dichotomies" of the body and mind, the spiritual and the political, which the author finds recourse from Audre Lorde's and bell hooks' work. And "move toward a shared sensibility" ...and so much more. Meanwhile, a "health" book in Mandarin I'm reading, Shorted - Science of Spirituality（短路——心靈的科學）by 楊定一. Easy read, yet needs practice for experience and true understanding. Another book in Taiwanese: 拋荒 ê 故事 by 陳明仁, I usually read a short story from this before bed. I’ll share more with you later.
